Alexandra Headland

Took a stroll through Churinga Park at "Alex", the park follows the beach from the end of Maroochydore, over the Alex headland to Mooloolaba, distance, ?, but far enough to get a fair enough work out.
The entrance to Churinga is a favourite place for the surfers to pick up a wave or two.

Just a little further along, another group of surfers waiting with a lone sailboat in the distance.

The middle of the park, at its widest, has a number of memorials to our lost service personnel, there is the H.M.A.S. Brisbane memorial, A memorial to those lost in Korea, and a really lovely memorial to service dogs, with a water bowl for our thirsty four footed friends.

The track is popular with the joggers and keep fit walkers, with a couple of steep gradients and a nice shady dip in the middle.

Staggering back to the car I noticed an info icon on the path, "walkway another 12.5km"! now that is something to work up to for another day.

The plan was to have coffee and maybe a little cake in Mooloolaba, but it was just chock a block full of people all having fun, even the Australia Zoo boat was close in to shore, offering tourists a little cruise.
Left them all to it, and came home to Buderim. One of the things I just love about living in this area is being able to enjoy all the tourist facilities or stay away when the tourists are out in force, and talking of tourists, just how lucky are these guys and gals, a tiny little caravan park tucked away right on the Mooloolaba beach, you can just see the tops of the vans under the high rise on the right side of the piccie. Imagine... breakfast at sunrise on the beach.
