Lunch at Merlots Cafe in Buderim

Eldest Grandie went off to a Birthday Party, this seems to be the season for parties, so Youngest Grandie, Support Team and ourselves went off to a lovely Cafe in Buderim for lunch, Grandie opted for Pancakes with Maple Syrup but insisted on his fair share of the chippies and tomato sauce. He thought it was a brilliant mix, so much so that he very generously offered to share and insisting that Mum try a syruped and sauced chippie, her verdict was that it wasn't too far from Sweet and Sour Sauce. I managed to escape the culinary delight.

This is the current face that he seems to want to wear, what is it with little boys and face pulling?

Our selection of Steak and Hamburgers. I guess dinner tonight will be a snack.

Tiny Shop Front in Racecourse Road

After Lunch at The Coffee Club in Ascot we were strolling down Racecourse Road and came across this tiny little shop, nestled in the corner of someones front yard.
Windows painted over and all closed up. It looks like it needs a bit of work and I hope that is what will be happening to it, not being knocked down. A treasure from our past.
The shop next door is undergoing a renovation as you can see to the side of this pic, so hopefully this little beauty will also survive.

Clever Pet Mat

Sis & Partner came to dinner last night and bought the cutest new piece of equipment to help in our war to keep black dog well. If you were guessing what it could possibly be from the pics across the bottom of the box you could be forgiven for mistaking it for a food platter. The Darling thought the mouse dinner looked interesting, but I think the stuffed cat on the end takes the cake.

But no, it is a warming mat for pets, Black dog is very arthritic and the cold weather is making life a little unpleasant

Here it is with its little cover on, as you can see by the dog fur adhering to the cover it was tried out by all 5 dogs last night, some liked it more than others. It has carbon fibers embedded in the mat and so is safe against water and can be wiped down, the cover of course can be washed. Just what's needed.

And just because I managed to get a reasonable pic of the dining room, here's the table all set with dinner. Nothing quite like a dose of the lurgy to keep a body quietly at home with nothing to blog for a week.
